Claire and Scott love, love, love to draw on our driveway with sidewalk chalk. Claire isn't much of an artist; she prefers prose. Several times now she's proudly shown me what she's written and I see this:
MOM
DAD
CLAIRE
SCOTT
BABY
Whoa there!!! Seriously, where does she get this stuff? I do not, repeat, DO NOT have any announcements to make, so if you come by our house and see something about a baby scrawled in giant chalk lettering on our driveway, don't get any ideas.
I don't know Gretchen, Gwen was doing stuff like that (well, not writing it, that's freaking amazing) before all this fiasco happened and now look at me. So be careful what your kids do ;)
ReplyDeleteI went back and counted I think three or four times on my blog that I said "I am NOT pregnant" when technically I was. Yikes ;)
Gotta love the kid's sense of humor. You and she need to get your heads together and come up with a compromise.
ReplyDeleteHalf a baby?
About nine months ago (when I had a 7 month old baby), J.D. told all kinds of people (at church, at school, etc.) about the baby sister he was going to have. I was not pregnant then (or now) and had to squelsh (is that a word?) all the rumors he was starting.
ReplyDeleteOne day my brother and I started telling my mom how cool it would be if she had a baby. Little did we know, she was pregnant but waiting to tell us until more time had passed. It was complete coincidence that my brother and I brought it up then, and hadn't ever brought it up before (I was the youngest, and I was 14 at the time).
ReplyDeleteNo moral to this story. Just funny, like yours.
my goodness. she's a silly bird that girl. anden asked me for a baby just the other day, so we went to the dollar store and i bought him a baby. i hope that thought doesn't get more in depth than that when he can write!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! Maybe she knows something you don't? ;)
ReplyDeleteha ha. well i'll give you back your baby bjorn when you need it :)
ReplyDeleteall kids want more babies...it doesn't end
